“What are your goals for life?” “What are you doing?” “When are you going to start?” These are some of life’s biggest, and nerve-wracking, questions. They make our stomachs churn, our minds spiral out of control, and most of all they put us on the spot. Within the next 5 minutes, you better have a blueprint for the rest of your life.
The best part comes when you’re all alone. You begin to wonder, “What am I doing?” You lie in bed staring out the window, thinking about all the people who have amazing, busy lives. Your friend just got her third degree, but she’s not done yet. Your other friends are scattered all over the world living life, and even your 11 year old cousin has started his own business, “Toys for Boys”. What do you do? You just play games all day, stuff your face with sugary cakes, and relax. You forget that you just put in a big order for your business that’s coming along slowly, but surely. Did you get that? Slowly, but surely.
A lot of times we mistake being busy and fast for getting things done. If you’re not doing something every second of the day, you must be lazy. You’re a nobody who will always be in the shadows. But I’ve got news – that’s not true.
You should always take the time to step back and remind yourself of who you are and what you like. If you’re not careful to do so, you’ll find yourself always anxious and stressed out. Take the time to stop looking at others, and remind yourself that what you want to do will surely happen – whether it’s today, tomorrow, or a few years from now. Stay consistent and be patient. Don’t take on other peoples’ speed of life, trying to keep up, and don’t worry about how you look to others. Instead, take it one day at a time and know you’ll get wherever you’re going. Slowly, but surely.
